The Carter/Nitschke Day Hike

Today we went on a little hike up to the Fairfax Bridge and down under the bridge to the old Carbon Mine railroad grade. It was a really nice walk even tho there was a fair amount of mud! We all had on tennis shoes except Emily with her flip flops. Ha Ha! It didn't matter....we all got muddy feet! We went to an old ghost town called Melmont...no buildings actually exist there anymore but Scott had his metal detector so we were sure we'd find some treasures (but we didn't). While we were there we ran into Greg, Carolyn, Mitch, and Clarissa and their friends. We found a neat little campsite and ate our lunch there and then sat in the sun in this big meadow area. On the way home we stopped in Wikeson and had ice cream. A very fun day!

Ooo...that sounds cool! You'll have to tell us where to find that trail! We love adventure!

that really sounds like a fun hike....I'd like to find out where that is also. (It would have even been more fun if we would have gone with you too!!!) Just kidding......I don't know if the Rev's. ankle is up to something like that....it's been really swelling pretty badly. But it did sound like alot of fun!
